3400 MHZ
In CEPT countries there is an allocation to amateurs based on the ECA Table of 3400-3410MHz (aka 3.4GHz or 9cm)
for the Amateur Service. The band supports terrestrial and EME operations, as well as satellite and ATV developments.
Unfortunately as the map shows implementation is not yet universal. In Germany & Israel 3400-3475MHz
is available to amateurs (and was in the UK until the allocation was reduced to 3400-3410 in 2015).
In ITU Regions 2&3 the Amateur Service have formal allocations, including a 3400-3410MHz bi-directional allocation for
the Amateur Satellite Service. UKuG and RSGB are keen to promote harmonised 3400 usage/allocations
and we hope this page will assist other amateurs and Societies.

**Original version: European Common Frequency Allocation Table Footnote ECA17:
“In the sub-bands 3400-3410MHz, 5755-5765MHz, 10.36-10.37GHz, 10.45-10.46GHz the amateur service operates on
a secondary basis. In making assignments to other services, CEPT administrations are requested wherever possible to
maintain these sub-bands in such a way as to facilitate the reception of amateur emissions with minimal power flux densities.”
In effect, ECA17 allocated and encourages administrations to afford some consideration to amateur weak-signal operations in the
sub-band 3400 3410 MHz, amongst others.
